An unforgettable evening of sweeping cinematic scores and timeless orchestral masterpieces, brought to life by the Fulltone Symphony Orchestra.
From the evocative beauty of John Barry’s Dances with Wolves Suite to the soaring lyricism of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending, this programme moves seamlessly between film and classical music at its most powerful and expressive.
The emotion deepens with James Horner’s Titanic Suite, before culminating in one of the greatest symphonic works ever written – Symphony No. 9 “From the New World” by Antonín Dvořák. Rich in melody and inspired by the spirit of America, this iconic work is filled with moments of both grandeur and deep nostalgia.
Featuring acclaimed violin soloist Katy Smith, whose performance of The Lark Ascending captures both breathtaking virtuosity and exquisite stillness, and conducted by Anthony Brown, this is a concert of breathtaking scale and beauty, set within the magnificent surroundings of Tewkesbury Abbey.
